Millikin University senior Cole Phillips has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week. The announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon following his impressive performance in a recent match.
Phillips, hailing from Allen, Texas, showcased his skills in both doubles and singles during last Saturday's spring dual opener against Webster in Decatur. Millikin emerged victorious with a 6-1 win.
In doubles, Phillips teamed up with Theodor Wolf to secure a 7-6 victory over Ethan Foucheaux and Matthew Birchmeier at the number one position. This win contributed to Millikin securing the doubles point for the match. In singles play, Phillips continued his strong performance by defeating Foucheaux with scores of 6-3 and 6-2 at the number one spot.
The CCIW recognizes outstanding performances weekly, and previous honorees include Myles Krzewinski from Carthage on February 5.
