State Representative Amy Grant from Wheaton has introduced her legislative agenda as she begins her fourth term in the 104th General Assembly. Her proposals aim to support families, improve public safety, protect the environment, and uphold democratic processes.
“These bills address issues that matter most to the people of Illinois—affordable childcare, safer communities, clean water and soil, and rebuilding trust in our election procedures,” said Rep. Grant.
The key elements of her 2025 legislative agenda include:
- Making Child Care Affordable: A bill (HB1639) proposes exempting certain supplies bought by daycare centers from sales tax to lower costs for families.
- Combating Opioid Abuse: Another measure (HB1638) requires a photo ID for picking up legally prescribed Schedule II controlled substances from pharmacies to prevent misuse.
- Protecting the Environment: Legislation (HB1640) suggests allowing public notice of bids for cleaning leaking underground storage tanks online to keep soil and water free from pollution.
- Enhancing Voter Integrity: A proposal (HB1454) mandates county clerks use death certificates to remove deceased individuals from voter rolls to reduce fraud risk.
- Promoting Civic Architecture: A resolution (HR93) emphasizes Illinois' architectural heritage and encourages community-centered designs for new public buildings.
“These proposals are practical solutions to real challenges in Illinois,” added Rep. Grant. “From preserving our environment to supporting families and protecting democracy, I’m committed to getting results that make a difference in people’s lives.”
