FOIA Request to DuPage County Clerk Regarding 2025 Consolidated Elections Candidates on January 14, 2025.
A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent by us at the DuPage Policy Journal to the DuPage County Clerk. The request, dated January 14, 2025, sought information about the candidates running for the upcoming 2025 Consolidated Elections.
The records requested include a list of candidates with specific details such as their names, the dates they filed their candidacy, and the office they are running for. This information is essential in our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
As a media organization, we rely heavily on access to public records to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
