A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the Community Consolidated School District 93 on January 13, 2025. The request, sent by the DuPage Policy Journal, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, sought information about the number of non-U.S. citizens currently enrolled in the school district.

The request was made under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, with a preference for receiving the information in an electronic format. As part of our journalistic duties at DuPage Policy Journal, we are committed to gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

In light of our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We await a response from Community Consolidated School District 93 regarding this matter.
