State Representative Amy Grant from Wheaton is acknowledging January 2025 as National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. She encourages Illinois residents to learn about human trafficking signs and contribute to addressing this issue.

“Human trafficking is a growing crisis that impacts communities across Illinois and the nation,” said Grant. “By learning the signs of human trafficking, we can prevent exploitation, protect victims, and hold traffickers accountable. Every effort counts in this fight for justice and human dignity.”

The month aims to educate the public, promote resources for survivors, and enhance prevention strategies throughout the state. Representative Grant supports legislation and initiatives offering protection and services to survivors while assisting law enforcement in eradicating trafficking from communities.

Signs of human trafficking may include physical abuse indicators like bruises or cuts, poor health conditions, fearfulness, submissiveness, or having few personal possessions. A complete list of signs is available at RepGrant.com/SignsofHumanTrafficking.

Suspected cases should be reported to local authorities or the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888. Immediate dangers should be reported by calling 911.

For further information, contact State Representative Amy Grant’s District Office at 331-218-4182.

Representative Amy Grant is serving her third term in the General Assembly representing several DuPage County communities including Naperville, Warrenville, Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, Lisle, Carol Stream, Bartlett, West Chicago, Winfield, and Wayne.
