City of Elmhurst Public Works & Buildings Committee met Nov. 12

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Call to Order:

Ald. Bastedo called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.

2. Roll Call – Attendance: -

Present: Committee Members

Absent: Ald. Sienko

Quorum Present: 3 present - (quorum)

Also in attendance: Public Works Director Balicki      

                                Utility Operations Manager Tuomey       

                                City Engineer Sianis

Public Present: 1 resident

3. Public Comments:

• Kathleen Sullivan –The First Street project was poorly managed; construction happened at night; there was no follow-up and would like an apology from the Mayor.  Also, dislikes Swallow Construction.

5. Business Before the Committee:

A. Minutes of the October 15, 2024, Public Works & Building Committee:

Ald. Bram motioned to approve the October 15, 2024 Minutes of the Public Works & Building Committee; Ald. Cahill seconded. Voice vote. Motion carried 3-0 (Bastedo, Cahill, Bram). Minutes approved. 

B. Discussion of Minutes of Meetings Lawfully Closed under this Act, whether for purposes of approval by the body of the minutes or semi-annual review of the minutes as mandated by Section 2.06 of the Act 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21) - Review of the following Executive Session Meeting Minutes to remain closed: October 14, 2015 and October 26, 2015:

Public Works Director Balicki presented the agenda item. Ald. Cahill motioned to keep minutes closed, Ald. Bram seconded.  Voice vote. Motion carried 3-0 (Bastedo, Cahill, Bram). Agenda item approved. 

C. Pending Items Review:

Public Works Director Balicki presented the agenda item.

D. 2025 CMMS Assistance:

Public Works Director Balicki presented the agenda item. Ald. Bram motioned to approve the draft report, Ald. Cahill seconded.  Voice vote. Motion carried 3-0 (Bastedo, Cahill, Bram) Report approved. 

E. Digester 3 Maintenance and Cleaning:

Public Works Director Balicki presented the agenda item. Ald. Cahill motioned to approve the draft report, Ald. Bram seconded.  Voice vote. Motion carried 3-0 (Bastedo, Cahill, Bram) Report approved.

6. Other Business:

• Jonathan Tuomey was introduced as the new Utility Operations Manager

• No Mow will be a PA&S referral
