DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin has announced that his office will deploy teams of Assistant State’s Attorneys and Investigators to monitor polling locations on Election Day, November 5, 2024. These teams will be available from 6 a.m., when polls open, until they close at 7 p.m., to address any suspected irregularities or violations of the Illinois Election Code.
Berlin stated, “As we have done in every election since I became State’s Attorney, my office will again deploy teams of Assistant State’s Attorneys and Investigators throughout DuPage County to canvass polling places and to respond to suspected violations of the Election Code.” The initiative includes collaboration with local law enforcement officers and Sheriff’s Deputies who will be present at polling sites across the county.
The staff at the State’s Attorney’s Office will maintain communication with officials at the DuPage County Clerk’s Office in Wheaton throughout the day. This coordination aims to ensure compliance with election laws while facilitating a smooth voting process for all eligible voters.
Berlin emphasized readiness to handle any issues related to interference, electioneering, or voter fraud. He noted that individuals attempting to obstruct voting rights, vote more than once, present false identification, or tamper with voting equipment would face investigation and potential prosecution.
Polls are scheduled to operate from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Voters with concerns about activities at any DuPage County polling place can reach out to either the DuPage County Clerk at (630) 407-5600 or the State’s Attorney’s Office's Election Hotline at (630) 407-8118.
“Free and fair elections are the bedrock of our democracy," Berlin concluded. "My office is well prepared to preserve the integrity of our elections and ensure that anyone who wishes to exercise their right to vote is allowed to do so free from harassment or intimidation.”
