FOIA Request to City of Naperville Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

In our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the DuPage Policy Journal have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The request was sent electronically to the City of Naperville on October 28, 2024.

The information sought includes a list of all parking violations currently unpaid within the city. We asked for specific details such as the name of the offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date when each violation occurred, and the total amount due.

As journalists, our role is to gather and report news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. In line with this mission, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.

We await a response from the City of Naperville and will keep our readers updated on any developments. As always, we remain committed to shedding light on important local issues and promoting transparency in government affairs.
