City of Elmhurst City Council met Sept. 16

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

1. Executive Session - Mayor Levin called Executive Session to order at 7:04pm.

1.1 Executive Session for the purpose of discussing: Collective Bargaining pursuant to the Open Meetings Act 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(2) and Pending/Probable Litigation pursuant to the Open Meetings Act 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(11)

Present: Noel Talluto, Tina Park, Jim Nudera, Emily Bastedo, Guido Nardini, Rex Irby, Marti Deuter, Jennifer Veremis, Karen Sienko, Chris Jensen, and Michael Bram

Absent: Brian Cahill, Mike Brennan, and Jake Hill

11 Present, 3 Absent

Also Present: Treasurer Curran, City Attorney Durkin, City Attorney Acker, City Manager Grabowski, Assistant City Manager Johnson, and HR Director Palm

Alderman Sienko moved to convene into executive session.  Alderman Nudera seconded.

Ayes:  Noel Talluto, Tina Park, Jim Nudera, Emily Bastedo, Guido Nardini, Rex Irby, Marti Deuter, Jennifer Veremis, Karen Sienko, Chris Jensen, and Michael Bram

Nays: None

2. Call to Order - Mayor Levin called the regular council meeting to order at 7:37pm.

• Erica Abt - Spoke in support of the green space..

• Amy Wheeler - Spoke in support of the green space.

Monica Cook - Spoke in regard to zoning rewrite and engaging residents in open houses like downtown plan.

Alderman Irby moved to accept the consent agenda.  Alderman Deuter seconded.

8. Reports and Recommendations of Appointed and Elected Officials

8.1 Mayor Levin - The Mayor thanked aldermen for joining him for the 9/11 dedication memorial.  Also thanked Chief Dufort, Deputy Chief Reynolds, Communications Manager Schref and citystaff.  Close to 100 people attended last week's downtown open house.  The Mayor recognized the Safe Travel for All event.  For DuPage safety action plan, visit the city website.  NAFA Fleet Management Association recognized Elmhurst as the 43rd greenest fleet in North America.  Heritage Foundation Beer Fest was a successful event last weekend.

8.2 City Manager Grabowski - City Manager announced West Ave. railroad crossing will be closed for repairs 9/18 9am - 9/20 5pm.  October 6, noon-4pm will be the Fire Dept. Open House at Station 2.

10. Adjournment - Alderman Talluto moved to adjourn the meeting.  Alderman Sienko seconded.  A voice vote was taken. Motion passed unanimously.

Meeting adjourned at 8:13pm.
