Summer is not over yet, and State Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) has shared several community updates. A Jobs Fair is scheduled to connect job seekers with local employers, while her team of interns has been active in the community, collecting food pantry donations and conducting surveys. Additionally, a new professional licensure assistance form aims to streamline cases for those needing help with their professional licenses.

Grant expressed gratitude for the turnout at last month's Mobile DMV event and emphasized her ongoing engagement with constituents across the district. She encourages residents to reach out to her office with any concerns or suggestions.

On August 28th, a free Jobs Fair will be hosted by State Senator Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett), Rep. Amy Grant, and Rep. Jennifer Sanalitro (R-Hanover Park) at Fountain View Recreation Center in Carol Stream from 9:00 a.m. until noon.

Inflation continues to impact Illinois families as the state has not offered a back-to-school sales tax holiday for two consecutive years. In contrast, states like Iowa and Texas provide such tax breaks, alleviating financial strain on families during the back-to-school season. The average spending per child for school supplies in 2024 is expected to be nearly $875.

The Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR) reminds individuals with certain professional licenses up for renewal to start the process before their licenses expire on September 30, 2024. Rep. Grant's office offers assistance through an online form or by calling (331) 218-4182.

Rep. Grant's interns have been engaging directly with community members and attending local ceremonies to strengthen connections within DuPage County. They have also volunteered at local food pantries. Those interested in internships can contact Laura at (331) 218-4182 or email grant@ilhousegop.org.

State Senator Seth Lewis and Rep. Grant recently hosted their first mobile DMV event of the summer in Wheaton, aiming to expand DMV service availability in DuPage County. Physical DMV locations are available in Addison and Lombard for comprehensive services.

In other news, Girl Scout Taylor Slaby interviewed Rep. Grant about her role as a public servant as part of her efforts to earn achievement badges related to government involvement.

Rep. Grant also visited the Wheaton Lions Club, where she connected with community members alongside Wheaton Mayor Phil Suess and Wheaton Lion Suzanne Fitch.

For further inquiries or assistance, residents can contact Rep. Grant's office at (331) 218-4182.
