BLOOMINGDALE, IL – The passage of SB3476 marks a significant development for seniors and those in need. This legislation exempts home-delivered meals from taxes, aiding programs such as Meals on Wheels, which has been delivering meals to seniors across the Chicagoland area and Illinois for decades.

"I am proud to have co-sponsored this bill and play a small role in making it more affordable for charitable programs to provide nutritious meals for those who need them the most," stated a local lawmaker. "With this move, we are ensuring that more seniors and other people dealing with food insecurity from our own communities can have access to healthy food."

The legislator emphasized the importance of improving the quality of life for seniors and low-income residents. "Improving the quality of life for our seniors and low-income residents is a continual goal of mine, and I think this legislation does just that. Thank you to my fellow lawmakers for their support and to the community willing to make these ideas happen!"
