The West Central Municipal Conference (WCMC) was established in 1980 as a regional council of governments. It encompasses 40 municipalities, five townships, and two community colleges. The organization's reach extends over more than 200 square miles and represents over 600,000 residents in or near Cook County, according to its 'About' page.
La Ha has been appointed to fill the vacancy in the 82nd State House District following John Egofske's resignation. Her previous roles include serving as press secretary for Senate Minority Leader Dan McConchie (R-Hawthorn Woods). With an extensive background in public advocacy, La Ha has actively participated in charitable committees and was awarded the 2018 International Humanitarian Award for exceptional community service. Her campaign website highlights her strong commitment to community service, including her election to the Village of Homer Glen Board of Trustees in 2021 where she staunchly opposed tax increases and significantly improved life quality for residents with disabilities.
La Ha is committed to collaborating with other representatives to effect significant change. She has also pledged to represent the interests of the people and contribute to legislative decisions that impact the community at large. She stated, "I am eager to collaborate and continue to learn from my fellow Reps to create positive and lasting changes for Illinois."
