Illinois State Sen. Win Stoller is at a loss to understand why democrats in Springfield seem to seek the identity he thinks they are when it comes to abortion.

Stoller is blasting the state's new abortion laws as being too extreme, adding he feels Gov. J.B. Pritzker democrats are relishing the moment as they seek to transform the state into the most pro-abortion state in the entire country.

"Illinois Democrats are in a race to pass the most extreme abortion laws in the nation so the Governor and his allies garner national publicity for being the most pro-abortion lawmakers in the entire country," Stoller wrote in a Jan. 11 Facebook post.

According to ABC 7 Chicago News, the new bill signed into law by Pritzker would protect healthcare providers that offer abortion and gender-affirming procedures and their patients from interstate legal action. These changes come as many states across the U.S. are amending laws to limit such procedures.

Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Democratic governors in Colorado, North Carolina and Hawaii have similarly moved to protect abortion rights by issuing executive orders that would shield abortion providers and patients from being extradited to states that have banned the procedure, according to ABC 7 Chicago News. Likewise, voters in Michigan recently voted to codify abortion rights in their state's constitution along with California and Vermont in taking that step.
