10. DISCUSSION
Discussion of ARPA Funding for Wayne Township Outdoor Safety Area, $210,300
Deputy Chief Financial Officer, Mary Catherine Wells, provided the Committee with information on the Wayne Township request for the use of ARPA funds for an Outdoor Safety Area for Youth and Seniors. The Township made a request in the amount of $210,300 to construct outdoor shelters, recreation areas, parking lot expansion and electrical services. These improvements would provide for outdoor recreational activities for youth and seniors who visit the facility. Due to the expansion of the food pantry, 12 additional parking spaces to replace those taken over by the food pantry have been requested by the Village of Carol Stream. Committee Members, by show of hands, showed their support for funding this project. The item will be brought before the Committee for a vote in two weeks.
