The Pleasantdale Board of Education recently discussed facility update plans.

During the Nov. 16 board of education meeting, Pleasantdale Superintendent Dave Palzet showed the board a timeline that was created for the district's upcoming facility upgrade projects. The quarterly timeline for the next 15 or so months shows what needs to happen for the board to put a referendum on the ballot for the spring 2024 primaries.

"So that is our timeline, again, it could be adjusted. It's dynamic. It's not like this has to happen here. If things can happen earlier, they can happen later. But this is a pretty good guide for us as we move forward," Palzet said. "Moving forward, the administration is going to be working with our architects to refine the plan to make sure the safety pieces are also acknowledged and some of the other improvements that have been made to the other buildings as well. And my hope is to be able to bring some ideas of a plan A, B and C to the next meeting."

The district is talking and planning with some of its consultants and architects for plans and trying to get some community input on the facility upgrades. The board wants to make sure it gets a good number of responses from homes in the district on the proposed plans. Its current plans are wide open and include aspects of the Early Development center and general safety upgrades throughout.

Palzet said the board is actively seeking input from families and teachers.
