Residency Verification Process
The district is again contracting with a third party vendor to automatically verify student address information. As was the case last year, we anticipate the overwhelming majority of our families will be electronically verified.
If your residency is electronically verified, you will receive a letter of confirmation and there will be no need to submit any additional paperwork to certify that you live within the district’s boundaries.
A letter will also be sent to families whose residency we are unable to verify electronically. The letter will provide details on additional information you will need to provide during online registration in order to register your child for the upcoming school year.
Verifying residency is an effort to protect taxpayers and district resources by identifying non-residents attending District 204 schools. Illinois law mandates that parents demonstrate residency prior to enrollment in school and allows for periodic verification to validate compliance with the law.
Please contact your school principal with any questions or concerns.
March A+ Award
The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation and District 204 recently presented the March A+ Award to three outstanding educators. Joyce Louis, 1st grade teacher at Steck Elementary, Maria Santoyo, science teacher at Gregory Middle School, and Don Dvorak, art teacher at Waubonsie Valley High School were surprised with the news of their award. You can watch the A+ Award Surprise Squad’s visit to recognize each for "Making a Difference."
Steck Elementary School parent nominator, Sudhir Chivukula shared that Ms. Louis is “very connected with her students and provides the perfect balance of academics and fun.”
The middle school winner was nominated by Gregory Middle School parent Jasmina Oconnor. “In the times when everyone struggles and everyone is anxious, Ms. Santoyo is the shining lighthouse who brings our teens safely to adulthood, and for this, I as a parent will be forever grateful,” Oconnor said.
The high school winner was nominated by student Lorelei Trzupek. “Mr. Dvorak is extremely kind and helps his students with their projects or even their math homework. He is a great friend and I am so happy that he is my teacher,” Trzupek shared.
Wells Fargo Advisors is partnering with IPEF and District 204 for the eighth year to help recognize three staff members each month for making a difference for students. To celebrate these staff members that go above and beyond, Wells Fargo Advisors is donating $200 for each staff member to use in his or her school.
Nominations are welcome from parents, alumni, community members, and students. Share your story about a teacher, secretary, bus driver, crossing guard or custodian and how they made a difference for you or your student. Nominate a staff member by visiting A+ Award.
