Masks Will Be Optional at Village Facilities Beginning February 28th

In accordance with State and County guidance, effective Monday, February 28th, the Village of Hanover Park will make wearing a mask

optional for persons visiting Village Hall, Police Department, Fire Department and Public Works Facilities.

Governor Pritzker stated he is lifting the indoor mask requirement effective Monday, February 28, 2022. Masks will still be required where federally mandated (including on public transit), health care facilities, congregate settings, long term care facilities, and daycare settings.

CHANGES TO YOUR MONTHLY INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICE CHARGE ON YOUR WATER BILL

Effective January 1, 2022, the Hanover Park Village Board approved an increase to the monthly infrastructure service charge from $12.50 to $18.50. The monthly service charge is used to fund needed water infrastructure projects. It should be noted that there was no increase in the water and sewer rate for the seventh year in a row. The increase in the monthly service charge will help replace an aged water and sewer infrastructure.

In the Village’s 2022 budget, there is 3.8 million dollars allocated for water main replacement with a total price tag of 30 million dollars estimated over the next 6 years. Throughout the year, the Village Board will be evaluating the viability of a bond issue, state and federal grants, and/or other options to generate revenue to help offset the cost to complete these projects.

DISCOUNTS FOR THE INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICE CHARGE

Some residents may be eligible to receive the discount rate of $6.25 for the Infrastructure Service Charge. See if you are eligible.
