Read to a Classroom

Woodridge 68 is inviting every community member to participate in Read Across America Day on Wednesday, March 2! Volunteer to read a book to students. Our goal is to have at least one guest reader visit each elementary classroom.

Sign up to be a guest reader online. Choose the school by clicking on the tab across the top, and then choose your time slot. Sign up for as many as you like! We will attempt to honor any classroom requests but they are NOT guaranteed.

Another way to support reading in the classroom is to donate a book to the classroom when you visit. This is an optional contribution - we are happy you're reading!

Share Your Thoughts

Parents: please take a few minutes to complete the 5Essentials parent survey, which is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about your child’s school.

Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.

Parents can and are encouraged to take the survey now through March 11, 2022.

No Cost Study Support for Students

Your student (grade 3-8) has unlimited access to Paper—an academic support tool—through Woodridge School District 68. This means they can log on at any time of day and night, as often as needed, for one-on-one tutoring, homework help, and writing feedback—at absolutely no cost to you.

Paper regularly hosts free 45-minute information sessions designed especially for parents. You are encouraged to join one of these webinars and hear about the many ways Paper can make a big difference for your student’s learning.

Each session includes:
  • What is Paper?
  • How does Paper work? (demonstration)
  • Key benefits for both students and parents
  • Q&A
