Report: West Chicago School District spent $16,144 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at West Chicago Elementary School District 33 was up 32.7 percent from five years ago, according to the DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Dupage County school district spent $12,169 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $16,144 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 4,571 to 3,917 students over the same period.

West Chicago's spending in 2019-20 was 11.4 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
