Report: Butler School District spent $18,597 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Butler School District 53 was up 1.7 percent from five years ago, according to the DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Dupage County school district spent $18,294 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $18,597 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 528 to 494 students over the same period.

Butler's spending in 2019-20 was 28.3 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
