1. CALL TO ORDER

8:30 AM meeting was called to order by Chair Amy Chavez at 8:30 AM.

2. ROLL CALL

PRESENT: Eckhoff, Selmon, Renehan, Chavez, DiCianni, Rutledge

ABSENT:

Members Paula Deacon Garcia and Elizabeth Chaplin were also in attendance but not part of the quorum.

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

4. CHAIRWOMAN'S REMARKS - AMY CHAVEZ

Chairwoman Chavez thanked everyone for their continued support of Economic Development in DuPage County. The Chairwoman also noted that ARPA Funds had been distributed, through Choose DuPage, to local businesses and that she is still working with the Finance Department and other partners on additional requests for ARPA funding.

9. WORKNET - UPDATE

Lisa Schvach, Executive Director of workNet DuPage, updated the Committee on the approval of the workNet lease and the upcoming move and build out. Updates will continue to be given on a regular basis.

Ms. Schvach also discussed the workNet team continuing to serve job seekers in person and virtually at the Center. Discussion took place on challenges getting job seekers re-engaged in the workforce including personal health issues/concerns, childcare, and bus service in schools. These issues will continue to be discussed in Economic Development as well as Health & Human Services Committees.

Ms. Schvach also asked Committee members to help share an upcoming event for workNet's Youth Career Conversation that will take place this Friday. Information has been sent to Committee members.

10. OLD BUSINESS

Member Selmon reiterated concern for Childcare in the workforce and added that wages for Child Care providers are still not increasing to attract applicants to those positions. She requested that Committee members to bring any ideas to future Committee meetings for further discussion.

11. NEW BUSINESS

No new business was discussed.

12. ADJOURNMENT
