Megan Happ-Gargas has been an amazing volunteer at Brookdale Elementary School for the past four years. Because of her dedication to the teachers and students at Brookdale, she is being named the BMO Harris Bank District 204 Volunteer of the Month.
Megan’s nomination indicates that her contributions to the students and staff are immeasurable. She created a Trivia Night fundraiser, raising $4,500 that funded the replacement of old guided reading books and the creation of a sensory path for all students. She also negotiated a weekly fruit donation with Fresh Thyme Market so that the school office always has healthy snacks for students needing additional nourishment.
Megan’s volunteerism at Brookdale also includes maintaining the PTA website, assisting the front office with checking in late students, organizing teacher gifts, and planning assemblies. It’s a rare day when Megan is not at the school volunteering.
Megan is thrilled and honored to be recognized as the BMO Harris Bank District 204 Volunteer of the Month. She feels that participating in the PTA and being involved with her children’s school is deeply meaningful and fulfilling. She is grateful to all the amazing staff at Brookdale and believes that the strong network of parents and community makes volunteering a special and rewarding experience.
BMO Harris Bank is helping District 204 recognize one volunteer each month who has generously given his or her time to support District 204’s students and schools. To celebrate these outstanding volunteers, BMO Harris Bank is donating $1,000 to the volunteer’s school. To nominate an outstanding volunteer, visit Volunteer of the Month.
