DuPage County Health Department Announces Substantial COVID-19 Transmission and Recommends Masks Indoors

DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) reported yesterday that the county's COVID-19 community transmission is now at the Substantial level per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The recent rise in cases and hospitalizations is likely attributed to the more contagious Delta variant. Vaccines continue to be the best form of protection against COVID-19, including the Delta variant, and help prevent severe illness, hospitalization, and death. The DuPage County Health Department strongly endorses the recently updated CDC masking guidance which recommends everyone, including fully vaccinated individuals, wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas with substantial and high transmission. Residents ages 12 and over are urged to get their vaccine as soon as possible - visit www.vaccines.gov to find a location near you.

The academy provides an understanding of modern police procedures and the challenges officers face. The free classes will take place Tuesday nights, 7 to 9:30 p.m., over a ten-week period and will be taught by Lombard officers. Learn more.
