Du Page County Public Transit Board Met March 2.

1. CALL TO ORDER

10:15 AM meeting was called to order by Chair Mary Ozog at 10:16 AM.

2. ROLL CALL

6. STAFF UPDATES

A. Mobility Recovery Steering Committee

Update from Mr. John Loper

Mr. Loper informed the Committee of Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) efforts to bring together decision makers for the purposes of planning transit and mobility recovery in the region. CMAP is looking to develop a Strategic Action Plan by the fall of 2022. The Plan will include policy recommendations on inclusive growth, prioritized investment, funding, mobility options and encouragements, and environmental goals. Mr. Loper discussed DuPage County’s role and emphasis points including: first/last mile solutions, development of flexible and nimble services for all users, and implementation of Cook-DuPage corridor services for commuters

between the counties.

Mr. Loper proceeded to discuss a similar effort by RTA and the publication of their Sustaining Critical Transit in 2021 report. He informed the committee of what the report documented regarding the determination of Critical Need Areas and what RTA proposed for the allocation of $486 M of Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act funding. He indicated that the County would be responding to the RTA’s request for feedback by March 5.

B. Ongoing Projects

Mr. Loper reported on three active projects: Willowbrook Corners Service Plan, the DuPage County Trails Plan and the DuPage/RTA Mobility Plan. Updates were provided on the progress of consultant selection and contract development schedules.

7. PARTNER REPORTS

A. Pace

Christine Rose, Pace DuPage County Liaison, provided updates on budget, operating deficit, and CARES Act funding. She informed the committee that ridership levels are still at approximately 50% of pre-pandemic levels and that Pace is working on a Recovery/Re-opening playbook.

B. Metra

Demetrios Skoufis also discussed funding through the CARES Act and CRRSA and how these funds were helping Metra. He discussed present ridership levels across the system and on DuPage particular routes. He updated the committee on capital projects in DuPage and new equipment acquisitions.

C. RTA

Sarah Blair updated the committee on mobility services sponsored by the RTA and many of the popular helps for disabled and transit dependent riders.
