State Rep. Amy Grant posted a message on her Facebook account telling her constituents in Illinois that they should oppose any proposed tax increase in their state because of something she read in the report from WalletHub.

WalletHub is a personal finance website that recently released a credit rating report for Illinois. According to the report, Illinois has the highest state and local tax rates compared to all the other states across the country.

WalletHub posted the details on its site and it showed that Illinois’ total state and local tax rates on a median U.S. household is at 15%, which is the highest in the country. Following them at 14.84% was Connecticut.

Grant posted a statement on her Facebook page telling her fellow Illinoisans that they pay nearly 39% more than the national average, which should bother them to the point of launching opposition against any proposed tax increases in the state.
