City of Wood Dale City Council Met Jan. 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

I. CALL TO ORDER REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING (via Zoom teleconference) in accordance Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order regarding COVID-19:

Mayor Nunzio Pulice, in accordance with the Meeting Notice for a Zoom Teleconference Meeting, called the Regular City Council Meeting to Order at 7:33 p.m. Pursuant to the updated Illinois Attorney General Guidance to Public Bodies on the Open Meetings Act during the COVID-19 Pandemic, dated July 2, 2020, Aldermen and Elected Officials of the City of Wood Dale may participate in Public Meetings of the City without being physically present, in compliance with the established conditions.

II. ROLL CALL

Upon roll call, the following were:

Present: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, Susmarski, E. Wesley and Woods

Absent: Alderman R. Wesley

Also Present: Mayor Pulice, City Clerk Curiale, Treasurer Porch, City Manager Mermuys, Police Chief Vesta, Legal Counsel Bond, IT Director Kace, Finance Director Wilson, Public Works Director Lange, AICP/CD Director Cage

Whereupon the Mayor declared a quorum present.

IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A. Alderman Susmarski made a motion, seconded by Alderman Jakab, to approve the Regular City Council Minutes of December 17, 2020. When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results:

Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, Susmarski, E. Wesley and Woods

Nays: None

Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.

V. COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS

i. Citizens to be Heard

None

ii. Written Communiqués of Citizens to Be Heard

a. Resident Mazzuca from Ward 3 called to thank Director Lange and his Staff for all the communication and hard work during the project this past summer.

b. Janette Germaniere sent a letter expressing appreciation for and thanking the City of Wood Dale Council for the Wood Dale Dollars sent to the homes of Residents and wished everyone a Happy 2021.

VI. MAYOR’S REPORT

None

VII. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

City Manager Mermuys reported:

i. The Council already received their electronic copy of the Draft CIP. Hard copies are now available in advance of the January 14 Committee Meeting. The CIP discussion next week is one of the most important meetings and also one of the longest meetings of the year at which the Council prioritizes its larger scale capital projects.

VIII. CONSENT AGENDA

A. Omnibus Vote

i. An Ordinance Extending the term of Special Service Area No. 15 of the City of Wood Dale, DuPage County, Illinois

ii. An Ordinance Extending the Term of Special Service Area No. 16 of the City of Wood Dale, DuPage County, Illinois

The Mayor questioned if there were any objections to the Consent Agenda of Items 1 and 2. Hearing none and on a motion by Alderman Jakab, seconded by Alderman E. Wesley, to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented. When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results:

Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, Susmarski, E. Wesley and Woods

Nays: None

Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried, approving the following items:

i. An Ordinance Extending the term of Special Service Area No. 15 of the City of Wood Dale, DuPage County, Illinois

ii. An Ordinance Extending the Term of Special Service Area No. 16 of the City of Wood Dale, DuPage County, Illinois

On a motion by Alderman E. Wesley, seconded by Alderman Susmarski, to approve the individual Items on the Consent Agenda, including Items 1 and 2. When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results:

Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, Susmarski, E. Wesley and Woods

Nays: None

Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.

i. An Ordinance Authorizing a Loan Agreement for the City of Wood Dale, DuPage County, IL to Borrow Funds from the Public Water Supply Loan Program

On a motion by Alderman Woods, seconded by Alderman Susmarski, to

approve An Ordinance Authorizing a Loan Agreement for the City of Wood Dale, DuPage County, IL to Borrow Funds from the Water Pollution Control Loan Program, as amended. When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results:

Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, Susmarski, E. Wesley and Woods

Nays: None

Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.

On a motion by Alderman Woods, seconded by Alderman Susmarski, to approve the December 18, 2020 payment of the List of Bills, for the total amount of $692,303.57 for the following:

• General Fund $ 145,568.15

• Road & Bridge Fund $ -

• Motor Fuel Tax Fund $ -

• Tourism Fund $ -

• Narcotics Fund $ -

• TIF District #1 $ 325.00

• TIF District #2 $ -

• Capital Projects Fund $ 141,930.36

On a motion by Alderman Woods, seconded by Alderman Susmarski, to approve the January 7, 2021 payment of the List of Bills, for the total amount of $3,319,288.88 for the following:

• Road & Bridge Fund $ 8,018.14

• Motor Fuel Tax Fund $ 21,547.61

• Tourism Fund $ 4,166.98

• Narcotics Fund $ 102.25
