Du Page County Economic Development Committee met Nov. 17.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

1. CALL TO ORDER

8:30 AM meeting was called to order by Chair Tim Elliott at 8:30 AM.

2. ROLL CALL

PRESENT: Covert, DiCianni, Elliott, Krajewski, Puchalski, Rutledge

ABSENT:

Also present were Members Dawn DeSart, Julie Renehan, and Mary FitzGeral Ozog.

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A. Economic Development Committee - Regular Meeting - Oct 20, 2020 8:30 AM

Member Krajewski joined the meeting prior to the Vote for approval of minutes. Roll

call was taken at this time.

RESULT: ACCEPTED [UNANIMOUS]

4. CHAIRMAN'S REMARKS

Chairman Elliott had no remarks.

6. GRANT PROPOSAL NOTIFICATIONS

There were no Grant Proposal Notifications on the agenda.

7. RESOLUTIONS

A. FI-R-0638-20 RESOLUTION -- Acceptance & Appropriation of Additional Funding for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Grant PY20, Inter Governmental Agreement No. 20-681006, Company 5000 - Accounting Unit 2840, $250,000

RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

8. PROCUREMENT REQUISITIONS

A. 2020-265 Recommendation for the approval of a contract purchase order to ComEd for the purchase of electricity for Suite 105 and Suite 302, Workforce Development Division in Lisle, for a contract total not to exceed $16,000.00. Public Utility (per 55 ILCS 1-22 "Competitive Bids" (c) Not suitable for competitive bids. (Electricity is required to meet the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act)

RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

9. CHOOSE DUPAGE - UPDATE

Greg Bedalov updated the Committee on the Small Business Grant Program and mentioned a special call later in the afternoon to discuss possible relief for restaurants and bars through the Reinvest DuPage Program. Updates will continue to be given on a monthly basis.

10. WORKNET - UPDATE

Lisa Schvach presented updated statistics for unemployment data in DuPage County and status on the outreach of our Rapid Response team. Updates will continue to be given on a monthly basis.

11. OLD BUSINESS

None.

12. NEW BUSINESS

Chairman Elliott commented on the October minutes which stated that Evelyn Sanguinetti was invited to speak at today’s meeting but, given the results of the election, he did not feel it was appropriate to begin that effort now. The Chairman stated that he encourages the newly appointed Chairman to follow through with Fair Housing in DuPage County and feels that it is a critical component of the economic development efforts going forward. The Chairman also took time to thank the Committee and members of Choose DuPage and the DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau for all they have done and are doing.
