A. Cares Act Funded Improvements by Wight Construction. Contract to be on the July 14th

Finance and County Board Agendas

FM Deputy Director Harbaugh informed committee that we are completing a $20,250,000 Cares Act funded construction project for the DuPage campus.

Health and safety improvements will be completed at the 503 and 505 buildings, the Jail, and the Care Center.

Director Kottmeyer outlined the program and the contractual mechanism to be used to complete this work. Due to time restrictions and the critical importance of completing this life safety work as quickly as possible, portions of the work will be awarded based soliciting and receiving multiple price quotes. Traditional develop of bid specs, bidding the work, and waiting for bids is not in the best interest of DuPage County.

A Construction Manager at Risk contract with Wight Construction will be prepared for Committee's approval.
