VII. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT
City Manager Mermuys reported 2 good news items:
i. Wood Dale has again been recertified as a Class 5 Community in the Community Ratings System for the National Flood Insurance Program administered by FEMA. During the previous verification cycle, only twelve communities in Illinois, including only 2 in DuPage County (Wood Dale and Lisle) received this classified rating which allows residents to have special Flood Insurance with an advantage of having a 25% discount off the premium. This is a direct result from everyone’s hard work at the City and the City Council’s continuing effort to mitigate flooding in the community and minimize damage to private property.
