DuPage County officials have updated information on its operations for residents due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With the whole state under a stay-at-home order until April 30 issued by Gov. J.B. Pritzker, county officials recently announced the 18th Judicial Circuit Court will continue to operate on a limited basis and that the treasurer and county clerk’s office will continue to see people by appointment, with the latter handling such applications as license applications and record requests.

In addition, the county’s building and zoning department will continue to serve customers on an appointment basis and will accept online permits for roofing, siding, electric revisions and upgrades and permits, according to the Daily Herald.

The county health department also has been posting updates on its website, dupagehealth.org/590/Coronavirus-Information. DuPage residents and healthcare professionals with concerns about exposure or specific symptoms are encouraged to contact the DCHD Communicable Disease and Epidemiology program at (630) 221-7553 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or (630) 682-7400 after hours.

The DuPage County Sheriff's Office has suspended all personal visits to inmates while the crisis persists. Attorneys and clergy members will be able to visit inmates though they will be screened by staff for symptoms.

Staffers are also working to expand opportunities for detainees to communicate with their loved ones by phone.
