The bill, as it was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Linda Holmes (D-42) on Jan. 30, will amend the Counties Code, the Illinois Municipal Code, Illinois Insurance Code, the Health Maintenance Organization Act, and the Illinois Public Aid Code, according to the General Assembly website.
The measure passed the Senate on April 11. Assuming the Senate concurs with the House, the measure will be sent to the governor to decide if it should be signed into law.
