Q1 2018 Recap: Parolees in Aurora convicted of crimes involving weapons

There were eight offenders convicted of crimes involving weapons released on parole in Aurora during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows that eight men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving weapons was 32. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced in 2016, and the oldest was a 39-year-old man sentenced in 2016.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Nicholas Toscano. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2012 when he was 23 years old. He is now 30.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q1 2018 who were convicted of crimes involving weapons.
