The price of local government in 2017: City of Wood Dale

The City of Wood Dale budget was $37.67 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $9,214 per household.

That's a decrease of 24.6 percent from 2016, when the city spent $49.93 million, or $12,214 per household.

Wood Dale has 4,088 households and a population of 13,770.

Since 2001, the City of Wood Dale budget has fallen by 3.5 percent, from $39.02 million. The city population has grown 1.7 percent over the same period, from 13,535.

Salaries accounted for 21.9 percent of city spending in 2017. Wood Dale property taxpayers paid $8.26 million for 96 full-time employees and 38 part-time employees.

In 2001, the city had 96 full-time employees and 31 part-time employees, and spent $7.86 million.
