Q3 real estate sales report: Naperville

Median prices rose in Naperville over last year, and are down 7.5 percent over 10 years, adjusted for inflation, according to third quarter sales data collected by BlockShopper.com.

From July to September, 635 homes sold in Naperville for a median price of $400,000. That's 5.3 percent higher than median home sale prices for the third quarter of 2017.

In the third quarter, 3 homes in Naperville were in foreclosure.

Median property tax for homeowners in Naperville was $7,860.47 in 2017 according to tax data from that year. That means homeowners pay 2.1 percent of their home's value in taxes.

Statewide, Illinois homeowners pay an effective property tax rate of 2.2 percent, according to a 2017 property tax analysis by ATTOM Data Solutions, ranking it second among U.S. states and the District of Columbia.
