City of Warrenville issued the following announcement on Jan. 31.
If you believe your pipes are frozen, open cabinets which cover your pipes, especially on outside walls for better exposure to heat. Keep faucets open to let your water run to about the diameter of a pencil., and turn up your heat.
Remember it took time for your pipes to freeze, it will take time for them to thaw out and get the water running again. Do not apply direct heat to the pipes, always use indirect heat.
If your pipes are frozen, you will need to call a plumber, as the City cannot help you thaw your frozen pipes.
