The new budget proposed by City of West Chicago calls for $47,565,600 in expenditures in fiscal year 2019, which is 2.94 percent more than what this year’s budget provides.
Officials have until Dec. 31 to approve a budget.
The city proposes spending $2,630,000 on police pensions, which is 5.5 percent of the total budget. The pension amount reflects taxpayer contributions to current police employees.
A total of $10,782,200, or 22.7 percent of total city expenditures, would go to police protection.
The budget proposal mentioned no tax or fee changes.
