The new budget proposed by Village of Oak Brook calls for $67,215,040 in expenditures in fiscal year 2019, which is 19.5 percent more than what this year’s budget provides.
Officials have until Dec. 31 to approve a budget.
The village proposes spending $4,643,685 on municipal worker pensions, which is 6.9 percent of the total budget. The pension amount reflects taxpayer contributions to current police and fire employees, as well as other municipal employees.
A total of $8,891,960, or 13 percent of total village expenditures, would go to police protection, while fire services represent 12.2 percent of the 2019 budget, or $8,207,785. Contributions to the Illinois Municipal Retirement fund total $546,375, or 0.8 percent.
The budget proposal mentioned the following tax or fee changes: a 7 percent increase in the water user rate.
