Elmhurst defender Kennedy Irmen has been named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-Central Region Team, giving the Bluebirds the school’s first all-region performer since the 2016 season.
The senior from Schaumburg earned third-team all-region honors, with the distinction coming on the heels of her being named first-team all-conference in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW).
According to the school’s website, even while being sidelined for the team’s final four games by injury, Irmen led Elmhurst to a 9-3-1 finish, with the defense holding opponents to an average of just 0.75 goals a game with her in the lineup over the team’s first 13 games. She also totaled two goals on the season, giving her nine to go along with three assists over her career.
In qualifying for the CCIW playoffs for the second straight season, the Bluejays finished the year at 9-6-2, good for fourth-place in the conference.
