For the first time, the District 99 Education Foundation will participate in an online #GivingTuesday campaign to raise funds for educational programs at North High School and South High School in Downers Grove. #GivingTuesday will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 27 and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. The day follows Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
“We’re looking forward to giving the community an avenue to support their schools this holiday season,” District 99 Education Foundation President Julia Beckman said. “Proceeds of this campaign will help fund future programs and scholarships for students. For the 2018-19 school year, the Foundation has already awarded $13,500 in grant funding.”
With community support, the Foundation can achieve its mission to fill in the gap where traditional funding may not be available. In order to continue its efforts at each high school, the Foundation encourages community involvement.
