Community Consolidated School District 89 recently issued the following announcement.
Congratulations to the Glen Crest Middle School math team for their success at the first regional math competition of the year. All three grades earned three top-three finishes and four students placed in the top 10!
The eighth-grade team finished first in their grade-level competition. The team members were: Khatija Ahmed, Jack Bair, Sam Lullo, Reganne Nash, and Andrew Park.
The seventh grade team also took home first place. The team members were: Kathy Georgieva, Lucas Newman, Emily Puchalski, Isha Shah, and Ben Zima.
The sixtSeventh grade math team h-grade team finished third. The team members were: Ian Jang, Aniketh Mangalagiri, Kamalaksha Nimishakavi, Jonathan Park, and Ella Pope.
In the individual competitions, four students earned top 10 finishes.
Eighth grade:
Andrew Park finished second, Jack Bair finished fifth, and Sam Lullo finished sixth
Grade six:
Ella Pope finished fifth
Eighth grade math team The meet was held November 10 at Montini Catholic High School. The Glen Crest Math Team coach is Monica Shekar.
