Tornatore, Chaplin among winners in DuPage County Board races

The results of the DuPage County Board races have been released.

Republican Sam Tornatore and Democrat Ashley J. Selmon have been declared winners in the County Board Member District 1 race. Other candidates that were in the running were Republican Dino Gavanes and Democrat Zahra Suratwala. 

With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Tornatore had 29.08 percent of the vote with a total of 23,672 votes. Selmon had 26.27 percent of the vote with a total of 21,381 votes. Gavanes received 22.84 percent of the vote with a total of 18,596 votes, while Suratwala received 21.81 of the vote with a total of 17,752 votes.


DuPage County Board District 2 Member Elizabeth Chaplin

Democrat Elizabeth Chaplin and Republican Peter DiCianni have been declared winners in the County Board Member District 2 race. Republican Steve Nero was also in the running.

With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Chaplin had 41.71 percent of the vote with a total of 34,573 votes. DiCianni had 32.09 of the vote with a total of 26,598 votes. Nero received 26.21 percent of the vote with a total of 21,725 votes.

Democrat Julie Renehan and Republican Greg Hart have been declared winners in the County Board Member District 3 race. Republican Martin T. Tully was also in the running.

With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Renehan had 38.04 percent of the vote with a total of 31,419 votes. Hart had 34.96 percent of the vote with a total of 28,874 votes. Tully received 26.99 percent of the vote with a total of 22,293 votes.

Democrat Mary FitzGerald Ozog and Republican Grant Eckhoff have been declared winners in the County Board Member District 4 race. Other candidates in the running were Republican Christopher Zaruba and Democrat Hadiya Afzal.

With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Ozog had 28.29 percent of the vote with a total of 27,835 votes. Eckhoff had 26.53 percent of the vote with a total of 26,101 votes. Zaruba received 23.86 percent of the vote with a total of 23,476 votes, while Afzal received 21.31 percent of the votes with a total of 20,966 votes.

Democrats Dawn DeSart and Sadia G. Covert have been declared winners in the County Board Member District 5 race. Other candidates in the running were Republicans Patricia Gustin and Janice Anderson.

With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, DeSart had 27.50 percent of the vote with a total of 27,412 votes. Covert had 25.72 percent of the vote with a total of 25,632 votes. Gustin received 25.49 percent of the vote with a total of 25,411 votes, while Anderson received 21.29 percent of the vote with a total of 21,217 votes.

Republican James F. Zay and Democrat Sheila C. Rutledge have been declared winners in the County Board Member District 6 race. Other candidates in the running were Republican Kevin Wiley and Democrat Erica Green.

With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Zay had 28.26 percent of the vote with a total of 24,334 votes. Rutledge had 26.64 percent of the vote with a total of 22,941 votes. Wiley had 22.82 percent of the vote with a total of 19,645 votes, while Green had 22.28 percent of the vote with a total of 19,185 votes.
