INDIAN PRAIRIE COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 204: New State Report Cards Released

Unk

Indian Prairie Community Unit School District 204 issued the following announcement on Oct. 31.

A new Illinois Report Card for schools was released that shifts focus away from standardized tests to growth indicators. The state is now placing schools into one of the following four categories:

Exemplary: A school with no underperforming student demographic groups with a graduation rate higher than 67 percent whose performance is in the top 10 percent of schools statewide.

Commendable: A school with no underperforming student groups and graduation higher than 67 percent, but whose performance is not in the top 10 percent of schools statewide.

Underperforming: An otherwise well-performing school with one or more student demographic groups performing at or below “all students.” Schools with this designation receive targeted support.

Lowest-performing: A school within the lowest-performing 5 percent of Title 1 schools and any high school with a graduation rate less than 67 percent. This designation will provide comprehensive support from a statewide network of education partners.

For the 2017-2018 school year, all of District 204’s schools received the designation of either Exemplary or Commendable from the state.

Administrators presented information on the Illinois Report Card and how the data corresponds to the district’s goals at the October 22, 2018 Board of Education meeting. You can see the presentation here.
