GLENBARD TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 87: GPS 11/13 event to explore importance of early language exposure

Glenbard Township High School District 87 issued the following announcement on Oct. 30.

The Glenbard Parent Series: (GPS) Navigating Healthy Families will present Thirty Million Words: Building a Child’s Brain with Dana Suskind, M.D. at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Glen Ellyn Public Library. Details on Glenbard Parent Series website.

In support of Suskind’s work, the community is encouraged to donate children’s books to support early literacy or purchase a gift card from Barnes and Noble, Amazon or Half Price Books and GPS will purchase books. Books and gift cards may be dropped off at:

  • The Cooperative Association for Special Education (CASE) Administrative Office, 22W600 Butterfield Road in Glen Ellyn
  • Glenbard District 87’s Administrative Center, 596 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn or
  • The GPS program at Glen Ellyn Library on Nov. 13.
To arrange for books to be picked up, email Gilda Ross at [email protected]. Donated books will be delivered to the University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s Hospital and the Glenbard Early Childhood Collaborative for distribution to children and their families.
