With less than a week left before voters go to the polls, Villa Park state House candidate Deborah Conroy received another $18,685 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Oct. 18 and Oct. 26, state filings show.
The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Friends of Deborah Conroy, the campaign committee that supports Conroy’s race against Republican Jay Kinzler in the 46th district.
The district covers all or part of Elmhurst, Oakbrook Terrace, Wheaton, Addison, Bloomingdale, Milton, York, Addison, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Glendale Heights, Hanover Park, Lombard, and Villa Park.

Madigan’s contributions to Conroy came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $169,527 to the candidate’s campaign this election cycle.
Madigan spent $6.5 million on 24 candidates between Oct 18 and Oct 30, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections. He has spent $15.84 million backing campaigns for 25 candidates this election cycle, thus far.
