With less than a week left before voters go to the polls, Itasca State House candidate Diane Pappas received another $239,033 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Oct. 18 and Oct. 26, state filings show.
The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Friends of Diane Pappas, the campaign committee that supports Pappas’ race against Republican Christine Winger in the 45th House District.
The district covers all or part of West Chicago, Wood Dale, Addison, Bloomingdale, Hanover, Wayne, Addison, Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Itasca, Roselle, Streamwood, and Wayne.

Madigan’s contributions to Pappas came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $718,230 to the candidate’s campaign this election cycle.
Madigan spent $6.5 million on 24 candidates between Oct 18 and Oct 30, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections. He has spent $15.84 million backing campaigns for 25 candidates this election cycle, thus far.
