Lockport state House candidate John Connor received another $4,863 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Sept. 29 and Oct. 17, state filings show.

The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Citizens to Elect John Connor, the campaign committee that supports Connor’s race against Republican Lisa Bickus in the 85th District.

The district covers all or part of Bolingbrook, Romeoville and Lockport.

Madigan’s contributions to Connor came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $18,251 to the candidate’s campaign.

From Sept. 29 to Oct. 17,  Madigan spent $4.37 million backing campaigns for 25 candidates. He's spent more than $100,000 on 16 candidates.
