Itasca state House candidate Diane Pappas received another $281,968 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Sept. 29 and Oct. 17, state filings show.
The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Friends of Diane Pappas, the campaign committee that supports Pappas’s race against Republican Christine Winger in the 45th District.
The district covers all or part of West Chicago, Wood Dale, Addison, Bloomingdale, Hanover, Wayne, Addison, Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Itasca, Roselle, Streamwood and Wayne.

Madigan’s contributions to Pappas came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $479,197 to the candidate’s campaign.
From Sept. 29 to Oct. 17, Madigan spent $4.37 million backing campaigns for 25 candidates.
