Bo Richter is emerging as a man of all seasons for the Naperville North football team.
After opening the season at linebacker, Richter has recently adeptly added wide receiver duties to his resume, hauling in 18 passes for 287 yards and five touchdowns over the Huskies’ first six games. Over the last two weeks, Richter has caught two touchdown passes apiece in tough battles against area rivals Waubonsie Valley and Naperville Central.
After all his time on defense, Richter said at times playing offense just seems to come easier to him.
“I just feel like my biggest problem on defense is that I think too much,” he told the Chicago Tribune. “And it’s nice on offense just when I get the ball in my hands, I don’t have to think. I just do. I feel like that’s the biggest contributor to my success on offense.”
Overall, Richter said he doesn’t mind the extra workload and the numbers prove it hasn’t hurt his production from his linebacker spot.
As the Huskies’ anchor, the 6-3, 230 pound senior, who recently switched from outside to middle linebacker, has bagged 31 tackles and two sacks.
The Huskies (2-5, 1-2 DuPage Valley Conference) play host to Huntley on Friday, October 12.
