Tonia Khouri, 49th District candidate for the Illinois House of Representatives, has been endorsed by Rita Payleitner, St. Charles Ward 2 Alderman, and Wayne Township Trustee Mike Anastasio.
“Tonia's experience and leadership will be invaluable in Springfield,” Payleitner said in a statement. “I trust her to advocate not only for me as a taxpayer but also for my children and grandchildren. I trust her as my next state representative.”
Khouri, a Republican, owns a family business with her husband. Since 2012, she has served on the DuPage County Board as chair of economic development.
Rita Payleitner, a St. Charles alderman in Ward 2, has endorsed Tonia Khouri.
Khouri participated in the DuPage County’s consolidation, a plan credited with trimming the budget by $36.5 million for an overall taxpayer savings of $110 million.
She is running against Democrat Karina Villa in November's election.
“There is nothing more important an elected official can do than to serve others by keeping them safe, and by empowering and inspiring them to make the world a better place,” Anastasio also said in a statement. “Tonia Khouri is someone who can and will do this, and for this reason, I endorse her for state representative.”
The 49th District covers the cities of Aurora, Batavia, Elgin, Geneva, Naperville, St. Charles, Warrenville and West Chicago.
