Glen Ellyn State House candidate Terra Costa Howard received another $51,361 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Aug. 15 and Sept. 6, state filings show.

The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Friends to Elect Terra Costa Howard, the campaign committee that supports Howard’s race against Republican Peter Breen in the 48th district.

The district covers all or part of Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Lombard, Downers Grove and Lisle.

Madigan’s contributions to Howard came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $147,452 to the candidate’s campaign.

From Aug. 15 to Sept. 6, Madigan spent $2.67 million backing campaigns for 31 candidates. He's spent more than $100,000 on 12 candidates and more than $40,000 on 18.
